American International Industries Walks for a Cure
Team A.I.I. Joins Revlon Run/Walk Efforts
Los Angeles- May 16, 2006- On May 13, employees from American International
Industries came together to raise money in the quest to cure women's
cancers. Team A.I.I. was made up of co-workers from many different
departments in the company, including: Purchasing, Marketing, Education,
Sales, Customer Service, Inventory, and Public Relations & Advertising.
Family and friends also joined the Team on the 5K walk.
This was the 13th annual Revlon Run/Walk event designated to raise awareness
and funds that are crucial to the fight against women's cancers. It was held
at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park. To date, the walks
have generated nearly 37 million dollars for cancer research, counseling and
outreach programs. Events for the day included the run/walk, a health expo
and celebration concerts with Chaka Khan and The Bangles.
* In 2006, more than 69,000 women will lose their lives to a form of women's
cancers.
* Approximately 213,000 newcases of breast cancer and 20,000 new cases of
ovarian cancer will bediagnosed this year.
